An employment criminal background check is often a required part of the interview process in today's job market. Businesses can search for past criminal offenses including drug charges, sexual abuse/harassment, theft/money laundering, or acts of violence with a simple employment background screening check. People can act very differently than they actually are during the interview process, but an employment background search helps find the skeletons hiding in their closets before taking on a possible liability.

An employment background search may be social security verification, criminal background check, credit check, or DMV history. The social security check is one of the most comprehensive types of employment background screening check, because it provides so much different personal information. DMV history is also a valuable type of employment criminal background check, because it can provide information about drug and alcohol abuse as well as driving history. Credit history is another important type of employment background search, as it provides information about the person's responsibilities. There are many different types of screening that employers may do, so prospective new hires at any company should be prepared to have their history investigated.
