Employment Background Check During Probation
A lot of times an employer will hire a person under probationary terms in order to perform an employment background check. It can be done at any time once the person is hired. During this probationary term the employer will perform the background screening, which might include drug tests, criminal checks, etc. Should anything come up that might affect the integrity of the company, that employee will be terminated. The new employee must agree to the employment background check and understand that they can be terminated at any time during the screening. Employment background screening is best done once the employee is hired because the employer can not only get information on their background, they will also be able to see them in a working environment. In most cases, a hired employee should pass through the employment background check with no problems. However, there will be one or two cases in which an employer might have to fire someone after going through the background screening. Depending on the employer, this background screening can be done at any time. Often the employer will wait and catch the employee off guard. That way, they will find out more about the employee since they do not have the opportunity to prepare. And since they are in a probationary phase, they have to accept the screening.
