Detailed Drug Screening
An important part of applicant screening will include drug testing. There are several ways to test a person for the use or abuse of drugs. If the problem is bad, an employer will know right away. Some drug screening can be very intense and detailed. Some of the methods of drug testing include that of the urine, hair, breath, or blood testing. Many of these tests are simple to perform and can even be done on the spot. Applicant screening is the surest way for an employer to get information on potential employees.
Drug testing is performed in a number of ways. Depending on whether it is performed on the spot or with warning will typically let the applicant know how serious the employer is about their drug policies. In other words, an employer might want to get a drug screening done without warning, which might be bad for the applicant. Typically when there is warning, a potential employee will "be good" for several days before the screening to avoid any trouble. However, drug testing done on the spot will prevent applicants from hiding any information.
Applicant screening is helpful in many ways. Because job interviews typically remain generic and superficial, it might be difficult to get a feel for the credibility of a potential employee. By performing certain tests, especially drug testing, an employer can get a better idea of the applicant.
